UCS Sixth Form

As part of our Senior School on the Frognal site, the co-educational Sixth Form offers an education which is intellectually stimulating as well as personally satisfying, where pupils progress to university with the confidence and motivation of independent learners. The enormous majority of our GCSE pupils choose to stay on into the Sixth Form, where they are joined by pupils from other schools to study over two years for A level. This includes around 50 girls per year group in the Sixth Form.

At UCS our aim now is that boys and girls take proper responsibility for their academic and personal progress. We recognise that the needs of Sixth Form students are different from those of younger pupils. We also believe that they should develop greater responsibility and maturity. Sixth Form students have their own Common Room, study facilities and café. Uniform regulations are relaxed and students are encouraged to develop the habits that will prepare them for university study.

Guidance on admissions for 16+ entry

Do you want to understand what makes UCS so distinctive? It has a broad, academic curriculum; it has outstanding pastoral care; and it has a liberal ethos.

Information on the application and assessment processes is found in the booklet which you can download below.

Current and former pupils, who all joined at 16+, have contributed to the booklet and we hope that their insights into what makes UCS so special will give you a real taste of this school.

Bursaries and Music Scholarships

UCS consistently ranks at the top of independent schools in London for the number of 100% bursaries awarded each year, and last year provided £1.2 million in bursary support. 90% of these pupils received 100% fee remission. This fee assistance is available to pupils who join at 11+ and 16+ and is entirely means-tested.

Music Scholarships are also available and budding musicians can audition for a fee reduction of typically between 10% and 25%.

For further details regarding means-tested bursaries and music scholarship feel free to download the brochure below.
